Exploring the Urban Jungle
Recently I relocated to Singapore; a land of constant tropical warmth, with a new environment to indulge and adapt to, and a different culture to immerse myself in. Some projects are still fresh in development, but so far along the way I have made frequent observations that have inspired me. Here are a couple of moments that caught my eye. labels: landscape | observations posted by Aaron @ 01:42 PM +0800 Comments Monday, February 21, 2011 Hibernation
It has been a long hibernation since the last update here. Seasons have changed in every hemisphere, a cold winter brewed thick in the North, a bright glary warmth in the South, and in the Centre, the Equilibrium of saturated moist heat. I will bring things up to speed over the next few posts. Keeping the visual information flow fresher, I hope you enjoy the new flavours. labels: landscape | observations posted by Aaron @ 05:53 PM +0800 Comments Tuesday, April 27, 2010 Empty and Hollow
While on a trip to Rarotonga in the spring, I became captivated by the derelict houses. When the landowners emigrate they are not able to sell their properties outside of their Rarotongan genealogy hence these houses are often abandoned permanently. However there was a sense of ancestral presence. labels: landscape | observations posted by Aaron @ 06:21 PM +0800 Comments

On a quiet paddock with distant neighbours of rolling hills, an empty farmhouse sat. I spent a moment to capture this quaint wooden shell, in its wonderfully stark location.

Growing up in New Zealand I was always intrigued by the colourful wooden drawers sometimes seen whilst on a road trip. This is the first time I have stopped by to make a photo of a cluster of colourful beehives. It was a busy time of the night with trucks passing back and forth creating the glowing orange and red stripes.
